Covid-19 Announcement

The B-PSA’s primary concern is the safety and welfare of it’s members and with the current guidance from the Prime Minister regarding avoiding unnecessary social contact, the National Committee advises all Groups to suspend meetings, outings and camps until further notice.

1st Upper Rissington Scout Group B-PSA has suspended our meetings, outings and camps with immediate effect, we will be looking at other ways to keep our groups active.

About Us

1st Upper Rissington Scout Group

We are an independent scout group that is part  of the wider organisation of the Baden Powell Scout Association, (we joined B-PSA in December 2018) this is fully independent of the Scout Association and still follows the way Baden Powell saw scouts being run as laid out in his original writings .

We encourage all our group members to try new things and to push their limits in a safe way, this enables them to learn new skills and to work as part of a team as well as on their own.

We believe in teaching the traditional skills of a scout which includes being outside as much as possible and run mixed groups of Beavers, Wolf Cubs and Scouts, we are looking at opening a Rover Section for over 18's.

Latest project

Beavers and Wolf Cubs had a Visit to Far Peak Climbing Center where they learnt the basics of climbing before tackling their outside climbing wall. Well done to all!!

Recently we visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park for their Uniform Day event with our sister group 2nd Cirencester Scout Group.

There were talks and events arranged for the groups and they all achieved their Zoo Explorer Badge which they can put on their camp blanket.
